I enjoy playing when I don't "randomly" lose connection, even when my partner still has connection on his game. We are on the same network and sitting next to each other. Now I've lost a total of 68 points in less than 5 minutes due to "lost connection", yet it's actually not me losing connection. I've now downgraded to 2 stars. Please fix this bug or we will be forced to finding another app.
This app has promise... But it has many problems. First: Often things take way too long to load, or hangs. If you clear the cache it helps, but only briefly. Second: I got the game mainly for Euchre, but that one is unplayable. If everyone passes and it winds up back to the dealer on the second round, the game hangs and all you can do is quit the game. Unfortunately, they have no way to contact them so I have to post it here and hope they read it. (Also, Cribbage would be a nice addition.)
Fun to play. But takes for ever to find players for games. Doesn't matter how I'm connected always seems to take for ever, sometimes never finds players at all and I have to back out. The timer is pointless just a waste of time. If it goes all way down, it just goes faster for your opponent. it does seem like opponents let it run down on purpose to see if you'll forfeit so they can win. If you're going to have a timer at least have some kind of penalty for it running out.
Really enjoyed this for a while when I first started playing. It's pretty easy to learn the rules for the most part. I also like that there aren't a bunch of unnecessary graphics. I just wish there were more games to choose from and options for how many points to play to. Recently though, the app has stopped loading the multiplayer games. It will match me with people just fine, then once it goes to start the game, it just keeps loading until it tells me my connection has timed out.
It's not overly flashy or plagued with ads every 5 seconds, so that alone is a huge plus. I don't play multiplayer, so I haven't experienced any glaring issues. There's not a lot of games available though, I was initially looking for crazy eights or rummy (there is gin rummy); it'd be nice if a few other popular ones were added. I like that there are rules available if you're not familiar, but you cannot access them while playing which I think would be immensely helpful for new players.
Great game and selection. As others mentioned, players quit when they are losing to avoid a drop in ranking and you gain no rank points, rendering that match a waste of time. When playing GR against cpu, if tapping to continue after a round too quickly, you can't continue the match. The only option is to quit. I have yet to see the Seasons serve a purpose, but it's still worth playing IMO and looking forward to future updates. Current version 1.7.0
I loved playing this game on my Pixel 6 pro, but when I try to play it on my new 8 pro, the layout is different and you can't fully play the games. For instance, if you are playing solitaire and have a large column of cards, the bottom cards are off the screen and you can't access them. Beyond that, all the icons, dialogue boxes, and buttons are smaller making it hard to click on.
Nice-looking app. I like the game selection, but the gameplay progression is very slow. The animations are smooth, but also very slow. A speed option in settings could be helpful. A game and its progression should last the same amount of time as an in-person game would, or even faster, especially vs. Bots. Also maybe allowing the preselection of cards to play before my turn. Another problem: the card UI space is unnecessarily small. The cards need to be bigger and spacing needs to be improved.
Excellent! Very smooth. 1 star lost because as of right now the app does not have Bridge, which is why I downloaded it. But it looks like they'll be adding more, so hopefully in the future. The other star was for the following: 1. It boots you from a game, even of solitaire, for being idle. I had to take a text for a couple minutes and when I returned, I'd been booted. 2. No customizability of the packs. I prefer the red cards, and there was no choice. 3. Cards move slowly. More customization
Exasperating app! I was really excited about the app, but... It crashes regularly. There's no information whatsoever on the "points" in the app, i.e. how to earn points, different uses of points, etc. The login screen will not auto fill with saved password, so login to account is a pain! (It's easier to just login as a guest, which defeats the purpose of any point tracking, anyway.)
Enjoyed playing offline against bots but since the update, cant load while online. Offline it will load but wants me to sign in or create account which needs to be done online. Tried changing password and now it doesnt recognize it so an impossible circle. Tried deleting and reloading but still the same. Have to permanently delete. Too bad. Only issue I had before update was the light yellow and green colors were too hard to see score on phone. Need to be darker.
Love this App, but they have had coming soon on Euchre and it still hasn't updated for the new game. I wish they connected to Google or Facebook so it saves login Info, so it isn't redone periodically. I was so excited to find out they were adding euchre this month. However, since Sunday, every time I bring up the app to play, it crashes. I emailed about it and was supposed to hear back within 48 hours. That was a joke; I have heard nothing.
EDIT JUNE 22 2022: the app keeps logging me out, and says "oops something went wrong if this problem persists contact us" everytime I try to log back in. The only thing that works is ... Waiting a few hours. Also wish you could play offline This app is the perfect card game app. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to pause and save mid game. But otherwise it's amazing. NO ads. NO in app purchases. Reminds me of classic card games for Win95. Just get it already! I am addicted to Gin rummy
Too many times people skip out in the middle of a game just because they have a bad hand or didn't make their bid or something. Be better if players were held accountable for not finishing a game. I love that there are no ads though. Also would be nice to have some more games. Perhaps cribbage? Thank you. Edit: lowered to 2 stars because people leave the games at the end just to save themselves from losing points because they know they'll lose the game. They should lose points for not finishing
I guess it doesn't matter since I installed the app to play solo, but I've never played a team game (spades) where your partner trumped your play when you were winning the hand. It's not a bot vs person thing either because the bots do the same thing to each other. It's like they are playing spades (a team game) but by some sideways heart (a non team game) rules. At the end of the day the points go to the team but I've never played with a human that didn't throw off.
This game has the best visual layout of any card games around and when it works it is great. But it frequently freezes mid game when playing with bits and forces you to close out. And you can wait sometimes more that 5 minutes to pair with online people. Once you do play online, it doesn't give you an option to play again, but forces you back to main menu to wait those 5 minutes again... If those things were fixed it would be flawless
This is like all card game apps. This one plays a 4 round game. Sometimes the online opponent will get 3 hands in a row that are gin or close to gin. The same with me. I'm convinced the cards are dealt in a way, most of the time, in a way that a person can't win. Too many great hands in a row. People with higher points always get a better hand dealt. I can have a hand that I can almost get rummy and the opponent with higher points are going to have a better hand dealt every time.
Love the game, it has lots of potential. Great design. However, the new update for gin is very glitchy and does not have big gin, doesn't match my hands the way it used to, and someone collected 16 cards without discarding and then knocked somehow. Love the idea and design, just needs some work.
the app used to just be for looking up the rules to hundreds of different card games in one convenient app... that feature is gone and now the app is useless to me when we are playing cards. guess I'll be googling card game rules from now on and not using this app.
The app stopped working about 3-4 months ago, but after finally getting in touch with support, it looks like it's up and running again. I like that I don't have to deal with ads or pay to play shenanigans.
